CHRYSLER announced a problem with the VIPER affecting a total of 26 vehicles.
Cracking and separation of the steering rack cross member and/or the differential mounting bracket may lead to loss of vehicle control in extreme cases. Vehicles built from 01/01/1996 to 12/31/1999 are at risk.
The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. Recall vehicles and inspect for cracks. If cracks are evident parts will be replaced. In all cases reinforcement brackets will be installed.
If you think that your vehicle may be affected by this recall you should
find your nearest CHRYSLER dealer
who will be able to confirm whether or not your car is safe and arrange its free repair if necessary.
