MERCEDES BENZ announced a problem with the M CLASS affecting a total of 29,686 vehicles.
An oversize hose clamp may allow a gradual loss of Power Assisted Steering Fluid over a period of time. Vehicles built from 04/01/1998 to 04/01/2002 are at risk.
The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. Recall affected vehicles and replace hose clamp with modified type.
