VAUXHALL announced a problem with the Astra G and Astra H affecting a total of 33,639 vehicles.
It has been identified that on vehicles fitted with the Z16XEP engine the upper oil pressure switch might release oil onto the exhaust manifold heat protection shield, which could result in self ignition. Vehicles built from 3/1/2003 to 12/31/2005 are at risk.
Recalled vehicles will have the upper oil pressure switch replaced by a screw plug. Additionally, a modified oil pressure switch will be fitted in a lower position.
If you think that your vehicle may be affected by this recall you should
find your nearest VAUXHALL dealer
who will be able to confirm whether or not your car is safe and arrange its free repair if necessary.
