AYATS BRAVO 1 Recall |
Engine bay fires |
AYATS announced a problem with the BRAVO 1 affecting a total of 40 vehicles.
Following several fire related incidents the manufacturer has decided to implement a number of precautionary modifications. Vehicles built from 01/01/1998 to 05/31/2002 are at risk.
The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. 1) Relocate exhaust heat shield and remove foam from beneath silencer. 2) Reloacate the retarder relay box. 3) Modify the retarder control system to prevent misuse and consequential overheating. 4) Review the routing of all electrical wiring in and adjacent to the engine bay. 5) Install an engine bay temperature warning device or an auxiliary cooling fan. 6) Fit twin alternators on request. 7) Modify the air pipe between the compressor and the air dryer. |
