Rear seat belt performance may be affected

JAGUAR XF recall Sep 2008JAGUAR announced a problem with the XF affecting a total of 4,822 vehicles.

It has been identified that due to the possibility of a non conformance during production, the rear seat belt D-loop assembly may not be free to rotate. In the event of a medium to high severity impact, this inability of the D-loop to rotate, can limit the performance of the rear seat belt system Vehicles built from 10/22/2007 to 5/22/2008 are at risk.

Recalled vehicles will have the rear seat belt D- loop assemblies checked for freedom of rotation. If freedom of rotation is not present, a predetermined repair will be implemented.
