VW announced a problem with the Polo GTI affecting a total of 3,497 vehicles.
A fracture may occur in the area of the clutch pedal attachment because of poor welding which may affect the operation of the clutch. Vehicles built from 05/03/1999 to 05/09/2001 are at risk.
The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. On all affected vehicles an additional foot pedal support (additional welding seam) will be fitted

find your nearest VW dealer
who will be able to confirm whether or not your car is safe and arrange its free repair if necessary.
