MAZDA announced a problem with the MPV/MX-5/MAZDA 6 affecting a total of 28,339 vehicles.
Repeated thermal expansion and shrinkage in use may cause the front fog light socket holder to become detached from the fog light case. As a consequence, an exposed hot bulb may come into contact with part of the vehicle body or fittings.
The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. Attach a spring to the rear of the fog light to prevent the socket holder detaching from the fog light case.
Vehicles with the following identification numbers are affected:
JMZGG******100113 to JMZGG******169924 JMZNB18****100017 to JMZNB18****314982 JMZLW******200019 to JMZLW******209838 JMZGY******100039 to JMZGY******127717
