Steering swivel joint may fail resulting in loss of vehicle control
FIAT announced a problem with the NEW SCUDO affecting a total of 198 vehicles.
The possibility exists that, the swivel joint stem of the front suspension vertical links maybe of an incorrect size. This can lead to the generation of noise whilst driving, and the possibility of suspension disconnection following a violent impact to the front axle, and subsequent loss of vehicle control. Vehicles built from 1/1/2007 to 1/31/2007 are at risk.
Recalled vehicles will have the swivel joint stems checked for the presence of play, and will be replaced if any is found.
If you think that your vehicle may be affected by this recall you should
find your nearest FIAT dealer
who will be able to confirm whether or not your car is safe and arrange its free repair if necessary.
