FIAT announced a problem with the Fiat 500 1.2 petrol and 1.3 diesel affecting a total of 3,020 vehicles.
It has been identified that on subject vehicles, the rear brake back plate retaining bolts may not have been tightened to the correct specification. Should the bolts work loose, this can result in noise, illumination of the ABS warning light, and in extreme cases wheel lock. Vehicles built from 8/1/2008 to 1/31/2009 are at risk.
Recalled vehicles will have the subject bolts checked and tightened to the correct specification.
If you think that your vehicle may be affected by this recall you should
find your nearest FIAT dealer
who will be able to confirm whether or not your car is safe and arrange its free repair if necessary.
