CITROEN announced a problem with the C4 affecting a total of 6,906 vehicles.
There is a possibility that a seepage of brake fluid may occur at the union between the rear flexi hose and the metal brake pipes. This would eventually lead to the illumination of the low fluid warning lamp, which if left would result in longer brake pedal travel and reduced effectiveness of the brakes. Vehicles built from 06/01/2005 to 09/30/2005 are at risk.
The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. Recall the vehicles that likely to be affected and check for seepage of brake fluid. If the brake fluid seepage is apparent the flexible brake hose and the associated metal brake pipes will be replaced.
