Engine may revert to back up mode.brake assistance may reduce
CITROEN announced a problem with the C5 affecting a total of 3,562 vehicles.
The original ECU software could generate an excessive vibration of the injection butterfly. In very rare cases the butterfly upper stop may fail causing the engine to go to back up mode which may result in a drop of brake assistance efficiency Vehicles built from 02/01/2003 to 03/31/2004 are at risk.
The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. Recall affected vehicles and download new engine ECU software and initialisation of the ECU.
