VW TRANSPORTER Recall

Handbrake may fail

VW TRANSPORTER recall Dec 2005VW announced a problem with the TRANSPORTER affecting a total of 8,345 vehicles.

The handbrake may not fully engage and a sudden release of the handbrake potentially allowing the vehicle to 'run away' cannot be ruled out. Vehicles built from 05/01/2003 to 06/30/2004 are at risk.

The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. Recall the likely to be affected vehicles and replace the handbrake lever and the push button.

WV****7J*5X000502 to WV****7J*5X034492
WV****7H*5H000029 to WV****7H*5H000908
WV****7H*4H000001 to WV***7H*4H109541
