MERCEDES BENZ announced a problem with the A Class affecting a total of 4,106 vehicles.
The brake master cylinder may malfunction in extremely cold conditions and only apply one half of the split braking system. Vehicles built from 09/01/2000 to 01/31/2001 are at risk.
The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. Recall affected vehicles and replace the brake master cylinder with an approved quality assured version.
