FIAT announced a problem with the DUCATO (250) affecting a total of 5,427 vehicles.
It has been identified that; due to a possible lack of lubricant between the steering rack and pinion, the steering may become increasingly stiff to operate. This can eventually, lead to damage to the steering rack teeth. As a consequence, the steering operation of the vehicle may become increasingly difficult. Vehicles built from 7/1/2006 to 6/30/2007 are at risk.
Recalled vehicles will have the steering rack inspected for damage. If no damage is evident the rack and pinion will be lubricated. Should any damage be in evidence, the steering rack will be replaced.
If you think that your vehicle may be affected by this recall you should
find your nearest FIAT dealer
who will be able to confirm whether or not your car is safe and arrange its free repair if necessary.
