BMW Mini New Mini and Mini Cooper Recall

Front suspension outer ball joint may become detached

BMW Mini New Mini and Mini Cooper recall Mar 2002BMW Mini announced a problem with the New Mini and Mini Cooper affecting a total of 1,416 vehicles.

Under extreme conditions of use, the outer ball joint pins may become loose in the front suspension lower arms. Under extreme conditions, detachment could occur. Vehicles built from 09/01/2000 to 08/02/2001 are at risk.

The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. Recall affected vehicles and fit modified lower arms.

If you think that your vehicle may be affected by this recall you should find your nearest BMW Mini dealer who will be able to confirm whether or not your car is safe and arrange its free repair if necessary.
