KIA SPORTAGE Recall

Handbrake may fail

KIA SPORTAGE recall Aug 2005KIA announced a problem with the SPORTAGE affecting a total of 811 vehicles.

The parking brake may fail to engage or release without warning, due to an incorrectly manufactured parking brake lever locking pawl. Vehicles built from 03/29/2005 to 05/08/2003 are at risk.

Recalled vehicles will have the parking brake lever assembly replaced with a quality assured item.

If you think that your vehicle may be affected by this recall you should find your nearest KIA dealer who will be able to confirm whether or not your car is safe and arrange its free repair if necessary.
