HONDA JAZZ Recall

Handbrake could become inoperative.

HONDA JAZZ recall Nov 2008HONDA announced a problem with the JAZZ affecting a total of 24,852 vehicles.

It has been identified that, the handbrake lever ratchet may not latch into position when the handbrake is applied, due to the possibility of the internal push rod possibly having suffered damage during assembly. With continued usage, the push rod joint can become worn, causing the handbrake ratchet mechanism not to latch sufficiently. Should this occur, the handbrake will become inoperative. Vehicles built from 5/17/2004 to 12/19/2005 are at risk.

Recalled vehicles will have the handbrake mechanism replaced.
