ALFA ROMEO 156 Recall

Possibility of engine bay fire

ALFA ROMEO 156 recall Oct 2006ALFA ROMEO announced a problem with the 156 affecting a total of 1,549 vehicles.

It has been identified that on a small number of vehicles, the possibility exists there may be a short circuit situation within the engine additional heater system during the warm up period, which could lead to a fire within the engine compartment. Vehicles built from 11/01/2001 to 12/31/2004 are at risk.

Recalled vehicles will have the electrical supply to the additional heater modified; in order to avoid the possibility of the short circuit occurring.

Vehicles with the following identification numbers are affected:

ZAR93200000193123 to ZAR93200000278968
ZAR93200001263798 to ZAR93200001379758
