HONDA announced a problem with the Civic 3 & 5 door affecting a total of 78,524 vehicles.
It has been identified that; if the handbrake is applied with the release button intentionally or unintentionally depressed, there is a small risk that the handbrake may not latch sufficiently to hold the vehicle securely on a slope. Vehicles built from 9/13/2005 to 10/12/2007 are at risk.
Recalled vehicles will have the handbrake assembly replaced.
If you think that your vehicle may be affected by this recall you should
find your nearest HONDA dealer
who will be able to confirm whether or not your car is safe and arrange its free repair if necessary.
