LAND ROVER announced a problem with the Discovery V8 Petrol. affecting a total of 2,894 vehicles.
The throttle cable may have been damaged during vehicle manufacture. This could cause the cable to fray and prevent the engine speed returning to idle when the throttle pedal is released. Vehicles built from 07/10/1998 to 01/21/2002 are at risk.
The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. Check the throttle cable for damage and replace where necessary.
