Twin-mass flywheel may fail and result in a vehicle fire
VW announced a problem with the SHARAN 1.9L TDI affecting a total of 1,521 vehicles.
It has been advised that, the twin-mass flywheel can become damaged because of poor internal installation. This can result in a failure of the twin-mass flywheel, and under unfavourable circumstances a vehicle fire. Vehicles built from 11/01/2002 to 08/31/2003 are at risk.
Recalled vehicles will have the twin-mass flywheel replaced.
Vehicles with the following identification numbers are affected:
WVW0007M04V000001 to WVW0007M00V011325 WVW0007M03V000781 to WVW0007M03V060950

who will be able to confirm whether or not your car is safe and arrange its free repair if necessary.
