MAN TGA,L2000 AND M2000 Recall

Compressed air system may fail

MAN announced a problem with the TGA,L2000 AND M2000 affecting a total of 4,017 vehicles.

The heads of the blind rivet pins may detach and, in unfavourable circumstances, get jammed between the valve and the seat of the blow off valve. This means that the valve will be permanently open and that it is no longer possible to fill the compressed air system completely.

The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected ,check the model and date of manufacture on the model plate. If affected remove the cartridge and check if the pin heads on the rivets are still firm. If the pin heads are intact rebuild the drier and mark as checked. If the pins have detached find the loose heads, remove them and then rebuild the drier with new seal and damping plate. If the pin heads cannot be found a new drier should be fitted.

If you think that your vehicle may be affected by this recall you should find your nearest MAN dealer who will be able to confirm whether or not your car is safe and arrange its free repair if necessary.
