Steering rack sub-frame may crack

MASERATI 3200 GT/GTA recall Jun 2005MASERATI announced a problem with the 3200 GT/GTA affecting a total of 884 vehicles.

The steering rack sub-frame may develop a crack in the area of the two fixing points nearest the steering column. This could result in the steering rack becoming loose and a reduction of vehicle control. Potential early symptoms noticed by the driver could be vibrations, noises and unusual feeling through the steering wheel. Vehicles built from 06/01/1998 to 06/01/2002 are at risk.

The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and weld brackets of improved design to the sub-frame.

Vehicles with the following identification numbers are affected:

ZAMAA380000000127 to ZAMAA38D000004901
