Seat occupancy detector may fail and inpact on airbag protection

BMW E65,66,67 (7 SERIES SALOON) recall Aug 2004BMW announced a problem with the E65,66,67 (7 SERIES SALOON) affecting a total of 2,448 vehicles.

The front seat occupancy detector can fail to detect that a seat is occupied, with the result that, the front and associated side air bags and seat belt pre-tensioners may fail to operate in the event of a collision. Vehicles built from 07/01/2003 to 06/02/2003 are at risk.

The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. Recall likely to be affected vehicles and carry out full coding of the ECUs, reprogramming as necessary.
