MERCEDES BENZ announced a problem with the S & CL Class affecting a total of 2,984 vehicles.
Corrosion may occur in the brake line to the front/rear axle distibuter. If left unattended this could result in brake fluid leakage and loss of brake efficiency. Vehicles built from 1/1/1999 to 12/31/2003 are at risk.
The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to replace the brake pipe with one of a modified design.
