KIA SORENTO Recall

Possible interference between power steering hose and brake pipe
KIA SORENTO recall Jul 2004KIA announced a problem with the SORENTO affecting a total of 4,483 vehicles.

It is possible that the power steering hose could come in contact with the metal brake pipe. If unchecked, there is potential for the metal brake pipe to chafe, which could result in fluid loss. Vehicles built from 10/06/2002 to 02/18/2004 are at risk.

The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. Return the vehicle to the dealers to check and adjust the gap between the power steering hose and metal brake pipe. And if required, replace the metal brake pipe.

If you think that your vehicle may be affected by this recall you should find your nearest KIA dealer who will be able to confirm whether or not your car is safe and arrange its free repair if necessary.
