TOYOTA RAV4 Recall

Front coil spring may fracture resulting in the possibility of tyre damage

TOYOTA RAV4 recall Aug 2006TOYOTA announced a problem with the RAV4 affecting a total of 1,998 vehicles.

Due to insufficient surface treatment prior to painting, the paint on the front coil springs may not have adhered properly. This can render the spring susceptible to corrosion in environments where road salt is used. Prolonged use of the vehicle in this condition may cause the spring to fracture, which in extreme cases can lead to tyre damage. Vehicles built from 05/19/1995 to 07/31/1995 are at risk.

Recalled vehicles will have both front coil springs replaced with quality assured items.

Vehicles with the following identification numbers are affected:

JT172SC1*00013120 to JT172SC1*00033614
