PROTON GEN-2 Recall |
Battery harness tie band needs rerouting |
PROTON announced a problem with the GEN-2 affecting a total of 1,879 vehicles.
The battery harness may not be sufficiently secured. There is a chance, if not noticed during servicing, that the insulation of the harness could chaff and expose the wiring. This could then generate sparks and excessive heat within the engine bay.
The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and where necessary fit an extra cable securing band. |
If you think that your vehicle may be affected by this recall you should
find your nearest PROTON dealer
who will be able to confirm whether or not your car is safe and arrange its free repair if necessary.
