FIAT STILO Recall

Suspension coil springs may break

FIAT STILO recall Nov 2006FIAT announced a problem with the STILO affecting a total of 44,221 vehicles.

Under environmental conditions that require the intensive use of salt on the roads, corrosive deposits may infiltrate the rubber plate which supports the front suspension springs, initiating seats of corrosion which may lead to the spring breaking after a period of time. Vehicles built from 10/01/2001 to 09/30/2006 are at risk.

The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. To avoid damage to a tyre in the event of spring breakage, a plate will be fitted which will contain the spring.

Vehicles with the following identification numbers are affected:

ZFA19200000000001 to ZFA19200000644197
