AUDI announced a problem with the A3 - SPORTBACK affecting a total of 92 vehicles.
The gas required to inflate the curtain airbag can escape gradually through a defective welded seam on the gas generator. In this instance the curtain airbag would fail to inflate in a collision. Vehicles built from 06/01/2005 to 07/31/2005 are at risk.
Recalled vehicles will have the curtain airbag replaced.
