Loss of steering power assistance

FORD ESCORT DIESEL VAN recall Jul 2002

FORD announced a problem with the ESCORT DIESEL VAN affecting a total of 2,858 vehicles.

The power assisted steering pump drive pulley may crack or break up. this could result in the steering being heavy/stiff to operate. Vehicles built from 08/13/2001 to 09/24/2001 are at risk.

The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. Fit a modified drive pulley to the affected vehicles.
