SCANIA TRUCK Rigid trucks Recall

Fifth wheel and rear suspension mountings could be compromised

SCANIA TRUCK announced a problem with the Rigid trucks affecting a total of 200 vehicles.

There have been instances where the M20 screws securing the spring brackets for the driven and tag axles, and fifth wheel brackets have not been tightened to the correct torque. This condition, if not attended to, could lead to the loss of the trailer or loss of directional control. Vehicles built from 12/1/2008 to 3/8/2010 are at risk.

The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to check and where necessary, tighten the M20 and M14 bolts to the correct torque.

How to check your car's VIN number - vehicle identification number

If you think that your vehicle may be affected by this recall you should find your nearest SCANIA TRUCK dealer who will be able to confirm whether or not your car is safe and arrange its free repair if necessary.
