MERCEDES BENZ announced a problem with the Vario affecting a total of 14 vehicles.
It is possible that the polystop (Nylock) nut may become loose or detach, due to an issue with the plastic retaining ring. Should this occur, then detachment of the tie rod/track rod could occur, which could result in the loss of directional control. Vehicles built from 1/1/2010 to 8/4/2010 are at risk.
The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. Recall the affected vehicles and replace polystop nut
